The tooling for the 1938 streamline version of the Dietz D-Lite was reworked in 1954 to produce the #8 Air Pilot to fill orders for "Air Pilot" lanterns from former Embury customers. The #8 Air Pilot is the last Streamline model still produced by Dietz.

This lantern is also available as an electric table lamp or top wired for hanging. We use a UL approved candlabra socket and lamp cord to electrifiy the lantern. To turn the electric lantern on we connect the shaft that was used to raise and lower the wick to a UL apporoved switch. So to turn the lamp on and off you just turn the wick knob. Available with a 6 watt silicone covered bulb for realism and ambiance or a 60 watt bulb for more useable lighting.
